On the Crimes and Grave Violations Against Civilians in El Fasher, Sudan
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
The World Peace Center – Norway expresses its deepest concern over the horrific events unfolding in the city of El Fasher, North Darfur. For more than a year, the city has endured a suffocating siege and systematic mass killings of unarmed civilians a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws.
Recently circulated video footage contains explicit confessions by members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) admitting to killing thousands of civilians in El Fasher and declaring their intent to continue these atrocities. Such confessions constitute irrefutable evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity, committed in cold blood before the eyes of a silent world.
The deliberate targeting of women, children, hospitals, and homes, and the use of starvation and siege as weapons of war, are strictly prohibited under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and the 1998 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. These crimes are non-prescriptible and cannot be justified or excused by any political or military pretext.
In fulfillment of our humanitarian and legal responsibility, the World Peace Center – Norway has formally addressed the following international authorities:
1. The Secretary-General of the United Nations,
2. The President of the United Nations Security Council,
3. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, and
4. The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
In our communications, we called for an urgent and independent international investigation into the crimes committed in El Fasher, for the immediate protection of civilians, and for the prosecution of everyone who ordered, financed, executed, or facilitated these atrocities, in accordance with international humanitarian law.
The Center has enclosed in its submissions initial video evidence documenting the confessions of perpetrators. Additional witness testimonies, field investigations, and digital evidence will follow to ensure comprehensive documentation that leaves no room for impunity.
We hold the entire world morally and legally accountable and call upon the United Nations, the African Union, and international justice institutions to act swiftly to end the humanitarian catastrophe faced by more than half a million people in El Fasher victims of siege, starvation, and indiscriminate killing.
We further affirm that those whose hands are stained with the blood of Darfur’s innocents will not escape justice. The files under preparation will be submitted in full to the competent judicial bodies to ensure that the perpetrators, regardless of their positions or ranks, are brought to trial.
The patience of the victims does not mean they have been forgotten, and the silence of the world does not mean absolution. History will not forgive, and justice though delayed will prevail.
Today, El Fasher is not merely a besieged city; it is a wound in the conscience of humanity. The blood of innocents is not a matter of political negotiation — it is a sacred right to life and dignity.
The World Peace Center – Norway will continue documenting evidence and coordinating with international legal institutions until justice is achieved for the victims of El Fasher, Darfur, and all of Sudan.
Justice for El Fasher. Dignity for Humanity. Peace for Sudan.
